A Bigger Thump

When our youngest son turned four years old, he had one thing on his mind. He was so excited on his birthday that finally, at long last, he could make a bigger thump.

He practiced all day, jumping up and down, and glorying in the sound of his big, loud, four-year-old thump.

Isn’t this what we are all striving to do? To make a bigger thump? Each of us wants to have an impact on our world. We want to know that our life made a difference.

Sometimes it doesn’t feel like our daily life makes much of an impact, especially when it is spent caring for young children and being a keeper at home.

Yet in God’s economy, we are making a very big thump, indeed!  When we love our husbands and children, as we are instructed to do in Titus 2, God will use it as a testimony to them, to the world, to our own hearts, and to the ages.
