Giving Our Children to God

When the Lord called me to missions, I could hardly wait to get overseas. It didn’t matter to me WHAT I would be facing. I was eager to go, and zealous to be counted worthy of counting the cost.

But now that I have several children, things look a little different. Would I be willing to have THEM count the cost of going into missions? Would I be willing to sacrifice seeing them regularly or knowing their children so that they could serve God overseas?

Giving Our Children to God explores the challenges associated with offering our most precious gifts–our children–to the Lord. In this 14 minute long mini-podcast I share 3 reasons why we should be willing to pray that the Lord would use our children in mighty ways for His Kingdom. For those who dare, there are several practical ideas for developing a heart for missions in their children.

Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Pray to the Lord of the harvest to raise up workers for His harvest field.”

  1. Molly, Thank you for sharing. I was blessed by your words of truth, as well as by the practical ways to encourage our little one to serve. I hope you don’t mind, but I linked this blog and message to my blog because it tied in perfectly. 2 of our dearest friends are leaving for Mozambique to serve as life long missionaries. It has brought up so many emotions and I have truly prayed (and struggled) with “handing” Charlie over to be used however. Your talk came at a perfect time.
