For this week’s Homemaker’s Haven blog carnival I tackled our laundry room and our office.
The Laundry Room
Our old washing machine had died after 10 years of service, so it seemed fitting to clean up the space before the new washer arrived.
Here is what the laundry room looked like before:
And here is the transformation!
This project didn’t take much time, but the reward was great. Often the laundry room becomes a place to throw things that you don’t want in other rooms! But I spend a lot of time in there! My enjoyment of doing the laundry has increased 10-fold (pun intended!) since I organized the space.
The Office
The office required more work. The kids and I decided to tackle it together as a treat for my husband. It was so dusty and terribly cluttered, with papers and books piled on the desk and shelves.
I’ve been feeling discouraged with the messiness of my house. Three children playing sports has taken its toll on my cleaning, with many evenings and Saturdays taken up with ballgames. I’m enjoying this break to tackle some of our clutter!
I’m so glad we took the time! The transformation was so great that my husband noticed it without me needing to point it out! I displayed some of his things on the shelves, and you can see the desk now!
