Update on K’s Brothers

Molly is still at the hospital, but wanted me to update you all.

Last night K’s two younger brothers developed what looked to be insect bites in several locations on their bodies. Today, after we talked to the doctor we decided to bring them in as the locations of some of the sores made it hard to believe it was insect bites. We were worried that they could be staph boils.

– The Good News: Staph while still a concern for further infection is not the cause.

– The Bad News: They all have Strep! Yes, you read this right! This includes K’s older brother who we had tested after the two little ones came back positive.

– The Worse News: Molly has started to feel very sick. So, we are worried she has Strep as well. She is talking with her Doctor about getting a prescription called in.

I held my head in my hands and just shook it in disbelief. The saying “when it rains, it pours” came to my lips in the doctor’s office. However, strange it may seem we are actually grateful for it being Strep. Things could be worse and our God is big enough to meet all our needs. The kids have such a good attitude about all this as well, so while we are in disbelief about this turn of events we are not despairing.

“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” 2 Corinthians 4 7-9
